Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE:CW) has acquired Dy 4 Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Solectron Corporation (NYSE:SLR). Based in Ottawa, Canada, with other operations in Virginia and the United Kingdom, Dy 4 is the leading supplier of commercial-off-the-shelf embedded computing solutions for the defense and aerospace markets. Dy 4 specializes in using leading edge technologies to create high-integrity products that work reliably in harsh environments. Dy 4 is a supplier to numerous defense industry primes including BAE Systems, DRS, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon. Dy 4 will become a unit of Curtiss-Wright Controls.

Curtiss-Wright designs, manufactures and overhauls motion control and flow control systems and provides a variety of metal treatment services. Curtiss-Wright Controls is a leader in niche motion control systems and embedded computing.

Curtiss-Wright acquired Dy 4 Systems in a transaction valued at $110 million. Philpott Ball & Werner served as advisor to Curtiss-Wright.
