Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE:CW) has acquired Lau Defense Systems, LLC (“LDS”) and Vista Controls, Inc. (“Vista”) from Lau Technology Corp. Based in Littleton, Massachusetts, and with other operations in San Diego, California, LDS and Vista design and manufacture mission critical electronic control systems primarily for the defense market. LDS is a provider of perimeter intrusion detection security systems and power management systems. Vista designs and manufactures high speed communications systems; motion control systems for weapons systems, turret control, flight controls, ammunition handling and ground vehicles; sensor management computers; and vehicle computers.
Curtiss-Wright designs, manufactures and overhauls products for motion control and flow control applications, and provides a variety of metal treatment services. Curtiss-Wright Controls is a leader in niche motion control systems and embedded computing.
Curtiss-Wright acquired LDS and Vista for approximately $41 million in cash and the assumption of certain bank debt. Philpott Ball & Werner served as advisor to Curtiss-Wright.
