Datron Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:DTSI), a manufacturer of advanced defense and satellite communications systems, has been acquired by Titan Corporation (NYSE:TTN). Based in Vista, California, with manufacturing operations in Simi Valley, California, Datron designs and manufactures antennas to track airborne rockets, missiles and spacecraft. Datron has also developed satellite earth stations, satellite tracking systems, and voice and data radio communication sells its systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and commercial communications customers.

Titan is a leading defense contractor providing information and communications products, solutions, and services to the intelligence community, the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Titan also provides solutions for the commercial communications and aerospace markets.

Titan acquired Datron in a stock swap transaction valued at approximately $51 million. Philpott Ball & Werner served as advisor to Datron.
